To use the calculator you must have a computer system which can
display and modify Microsoft Excel Documents.
This is a violation of the policy of Big Valley News. I try
very hard to make everything posted readable on all computers using any
browser. I stay away from complex web pages which seem to cause
trouble and often do not work as expected. In this case however,
the only way I have to present a spreadsheet which enables you to enter
your own values and calculate results is to use Microsoft Excel file
formats.
I am told that most computers have this capability, but if your's
does not, I am sorry. Later on when I learn to produce
interactive web pages I can do this a different way, but for now, I
apologise for using a file format which is not universally recognized
by all computers.
Clink on the link below and follow directions on your
computer. Hopefully a spreadsheet should show up on your
screen.
You will see GREEN areas into which you should type in your
actual fuel costs and furnace efficiency. I have attempted to put
in costs and values which are realistic for this area TODAY, October
2005, but these will change, so do not rely on them.
You
will see YELLOW
areas, These are the RESULTS of the calculations from the values
you entered.
If
you change values and forget what was in them, ORIGINAL VALUES are
written to the right of the GREEN areas as a reminder.
