FAMILY CAREGIVER
SUPPORT GROUP MEETING
TUESDAY, September 27, 2005
10:00 - NOON
The purpose of this group is to provide emotional suppport to
family caregivers who are coping with their role and responsibilities
as a care giver. Caring for a loved one is often more than a full time
job and comes in addition to other responsibilites. Our goal is
to provide a safe environment where family caregivers can come
together to discuss their situation and gain support from one
another. We work towards mutual problem-solving, developing coping
mechanisms, stress management and sharing information.
Caregiving issues may include caring for individuals with conditions
such as
- those with a brain-impairment such as dementia, Alzheimer's
Disease, stroke, Parkinson's Disease;
- those whose condition is the result of accidents, such as
Traumatic Brain Injury;
- those who have a chronic or terminal illness
Facilitated by: Mountain Caregiver Resource Center and TRANSITIONS, A
